Holdbacks in jeopardy

I have to agree here what is the problem with a student taking college courses in high school and getting that credit. My cousin allready has 12 hours and he just grauduated saturday.

In KY, students can participate in varsity sports in the fourth grade if a coach wants him/her to play. So, that would mean that if they play varsity in the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th then they would have used up all of their eligibility before they enter h.s.

[img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] It would take a short-sighted person to try and remove the chance to attend some dual enrollment classes- the schools are for an education, aren't they? If we are trying to get folks into college, it looks like the more advanced classes you take , the better job the schools are doing. 'Course, some want rid of their kids a year earlier. Wise County can do somethings other Counties can't, with 2 colleges in the County. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img] If folks don't take advantage of this, it is sorta like not filing for your tax return- the money is there , you just don't use it.

So what are the age limits on playing high school sports? I thought that 18 was the limit?

You can't be 19 before a certian date (I think Augest 1st) so there are plenty of 19 year olds playing on any given year

yeah because we all know that gate city holds back 50 people per year...gosh, i cant believe gate city is the only school that holds back...we must be doing something wrong
